Schwinn Twinn Tandem Bicycle Demo
here’s a close-up look at my twin tandem
1964 Schwinn twin that I stripped right
down and did a complete rebuild on this
one I had professionally painted rather
than doing a rattle-can job like I do on
cold weather ones and I put a complete
new component set in it front wheel I
went with a Shimano roller brake hub and
a roller brake it’s actually the small
ones only because that’s what I had
laying around I do plan to put the
larger one on at some point chrome
surprisingly cleaned up very nice the
chrome was in really bad shape or at
least it looked like it was in bad shape
but a few hours with a can of never dull
and came out rather nice and the rear
hub is a Shimano Nexus 8 speed the red
band
at CSG eight are 25 so it’s the earlier
version of the red band the roller break
the I am 70 roller break I replaced the
original seats because they were very
uncomfortable and also I put updated
platform pedals on it as well

Schwinn Tandem Bicycles
It is a Schwinn tandem bicycle. The seats look quite old-fashioned yet are in great working condition. Some of the older metal parts are rustic but otherwise the entire cycle looks to be almost new. It runs great.
The frame of the Schwinn tandem bicycle is made up of an alloy with a polyurethane coating. This coating adds strength and prevents rusting. The seat tube is made of three tubes joined at the head tube and the bottom tube. There is a very large seat and it has an impressive rear rack. The handlebar has been perked up and it has a comfortable seat to sit on.
The Schwinn airdyne bike comes with a free service guide that shows you all of the parts that need to be replaced or repaired. There is also an informative video. There is a built-in repair guide that shows how to do maintenance checks on the airline. It explains to you which parts need to be fixed first, then any preventive maintenance can be done.
The airdyne bike has a steel built-up front chain ring with a steel built-in front sprocket and a chrome or aluminum fork. The seat tube has a comfort saddle that is comfortable when riding. It has an adjustable top tube and a one-hand throttle. The handlebar has been perked up and it has a comfortable seat to sit on.
The Schwinn airdyne comes with an interactive training program. This program has a one-year warranty and it helps to make sure that you are prepared for each workout session. It shows you how to do each exercise, how fast to do them, and what type of workout suits you best. You can adjust the resistance levels and the workout programs are easy to follow. The Schwinn airdyne also comes with a workout book and a CD that teach you different exercises for strengthening your arms, upper body, and legs.
One of my favorite features is the adjustable air valve. This is very important because it allows you to set the resistance depending upon the time of day. You will never be left out of the pool or be surprised by how fast you lose your pump when doing the easy exercises. The adjustment makes this exercise equipment very versatile and easy to ride with. No matter if it is a group exercise class or an individual workout, you will love the way it works you. The Schwinn airdyne is a great piece of exercise equipment that should be on every serious athlete’s wish list.

Schwinn Tandem Bike FAQ
Tandem bikes were introduced by Schwinn to the world in 1960. Since then the Schwinn vintage tandems have been a big hit. In fact the original Schwinn Tandem bike was introduced over fifty years ago, long before the better brand names such as mountain bikes and BMX. If you’re looking to upgrade your Schwinn Tandem bike, or are looking to buy a used Schwinn bike, then you might be interested in reading about the history of this timeless piece of exercise equipment.
The Schwinn vintage tandour bike is actually a recreation of the best of the older designs that were originally created during the early years of Schwinn’s existence. The Schwinn vintage tandour bicycle has actually been around longer than the older designs that have come and gone. The Schwinn vintage tandour bicycle has been a part of many Olympic events, most notably the gold medal won by Bill Bradley on the men’s double pedal cycling team in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. In fact the older vintage Schwinn tandour bicycles were built with the purpose of using them for competition. So they were built tough and durable and designed to last.
Schwinn has recently been building newer models of the vintage bike. Many of the older Schwinn Tandem bicycles are being phased out and replaced with the newer Schwinn Tandem bikes. Older Schwinn bikes that are being phased out are being replaced by the newer models because they are easier to use, easier to store, more reliable, and simply just more reliable. Older Schwinn tandour bikes are also being made in small sizes so that women can use them too. Today’s Schwinn tandour bikes are lighter weight than the older models. Also the older vintage bikes were not always as aerodynamic as today’s models, which was a concern with some female riders.

First and foremost, this is an incredible value for a tandem bike with (mostly) modern components. Shipping is also free; a bike box of this size would normally cost hundreds of dollars to ship. Ours (miraculously) did not need any derailleur or brake change. However, buyers must have basic mechanical knowledge; the instructions are for the incorrect model. There is *no* other tandem with comparable specifications at this price point.
We are also the tandem’s shortest riders, standing at 5’7″ (pilot) and 4’11” (rider) (stoker).
The frame looks new and legit (I don’t remember any other Schwinn looking this fine), the welds are good, it has working mechanical disc brakes, and it has a threadless headset. The center-frame kickstand was also unexpectedly useful.
It comes with a cruiser fit (swept back handlebars and extremely comfortable saddles), but it is quickly convertible to a sporty fit by changing flat bars and road saddles.
Oh, and if this bugs you, it comes with a 7-speed freewheel (not a freehub), so you won’t be able to upgrade to higher-speed groupsets with the included wheel.
I purchased this a few years ago after attempting (twice) another tandem bike. My son suffers from moderate cerebral palsy and is unable to ride a two-wheel bike on his own. We have a lot of fun riding one of the nearby river bike trails — a well-kept gravel path. There is a long list of advantages… quality, ease of use, disc brakes, shifters that I want…. the kickstand is awesome and much needed when you have such a big bike.
There are a few things I will change:
1. The main issue we have is that my son is just a few inches shorter than I am. My legs are short, while his are long. Because of the way the rear seat handlebar is attached to the front seat, we have to limit how high his seat will go so his knees don’t touch the handlebars. It would be ideal if the gap in our legs was just 1-2″ larger. There is no problem at all when my shorter adult daughter rides in the rear.
2. (minor) I’m not sure what the deal is with the tires. They’re just 40 psi, and they lose pressure during our 12-mile rides. I even threw the green gunk in there. I’ve had heavy-duty replacement tubes for over two years and have yet to mount them… it’s a minor issue.
I’d buy it again in a heartbeat, but I doubt I’ll need to for several years.
My husband has been looking for a tandem bike for the past year after meeting a gentlemen who purchased one for $7,000. This Schwinn bike was a less expensive way for us to try tandem biking, and we ended up really enjoying it! I’m a beginner biker, but riding a tandem makes the ride more enjoyable and simpler for both of us (we’re carrying half the weight we would if we were biking alone). It allows us to engage with one another rather than biking separately. Plus, everybody we pass gives us a nice look. 🙂
This bike is light, and the seats are very comfortable. I like how we can sit straight instead of hunched over the handlebars. We had the bike shipped directly to the bike store, and it works flawlessly.
