MTBR Scorpion Bike Stand Overview

we posted a story on supercross tire
chad reed’s new mountain bike back in
february and our inbox immediately got
jammed with questions but the enquiries
weren’t about the bike itself rather the
thing holding it up that thing is the
scorpion bike stand a $73 moto-style
work stand that uses your hollow crank
axle to support the bike it’s great for
a wide variety of maintenance cleaning
and adjustment tasks and makes a good
stand for your garage or in the pits at
races as well what’s more the scorpion
stand is built in the US by motocross
rider turned mountain biker mike Diorio
in his Corona California workshop to use
the stand
simply lift your bike and slide the
hollow crank axle onto the spindle a
vast majority of mountain bike cranks
use larger diameter hollow axles making
currents RAM and Shimano crank sets as
well as numerous models from FSA
specialized race bass and others
compatible with its twenty millimeter
plastic sleeve install the stance with
adapters for Shimano Z and other smaller
diameter spindles as well and without a
sleeve it works for BB 30 & Cannondale
hologram crank sets
on the stand the bikes balance point is
such that the front wheel touches the
ground well the rear wheel is suspended
a few inches in the air this allows it
to spin freely making pedaling changing
gears and other rearward adjustments
quite simple moving the chain adjusting
derailers and making brake adjustments
are all fairly convenient using the
Scorpion stand as well though compared
to a conventional stand you’ll need to
get close to the ground for working on
dropper post especially internally
routed ones the Scorpion stand is ideal
because traditional stands clamp on the
seat post itself most home mechanic
sling their bikes against something to
work on their dropper the Scorpion is
much more sure-footed in these regards
and it even allows us to use our
traditional stand as a much-needed third
hare
you should note that because of
variations in bottom bracket with the
mountain bike version of our stand
doesn’t work perfectly with road and BMX
bikes they actually make a completely
separate model for that though we did
find ours workable with our road bikes
scorpion also makes a pro version of
each of their stands that cost fifteen
dollars more and disassembles for better
portability the bottom line is we really
love the scorpion bike stand for the
cost of a little bit more than a
mountain bike tire this US made
maintenance and storage stand delivers
great functionality as well as a pro
feeling to the proceedings it works
great for a majority of the maintenance
tasks we do most often and we’ve yet to
find a better helper for working on
dropper posts you may find yourself
crouching lower than is comfortable on
occasion and you may have to improvise
to work on some things but for most
tasks you’ll find the scorpion bike
stand more than adequate for more

Scorpion Bicycle Stands

Nobody really knows why your bicycle has a hollow spindle, but sometimes it does. Why not take advantage of that little space and make good use of it to properly store and operate your bicycle The Scorpion is perfectly compatible with all 13, 18 and even 20mm hollow spindle spindles on the front of your bicycle. The design lends itself nicely to light duty bicycle maintenance, such as frame cleaning and minimal chain oiling. Since the spare tire is mounted very low to the ground, it will be a quick and easy way to access this part of your bicycle without clumsily removing the tire and replacing it.

The high quality of this product is supported by a heavy duty, fully welded, powder coated aluminum frame with a smooth underside. A hollow crankset, also called a “stalk” on racing bicycles, is a one-piece spindle with no side plates that are usually rectangular. Hollow cranksets are normally made of a solid steel tube that has been given a plastic insert for a chain guide. The parts are fastened to the tube by bolts, so they can be changed or repaired quickly if the need arises. This is important because most repair shops want to avoid having to drill holes through the frame or replace damaged spindle bolts.

Since the bike’s crankset is also hollow, you can add numerous items to the bicycle such as saddlebags, cargo baskets or even bungee pole holders. One great aspect of the Scorpion bike stand bike rack system is that all of these items can be removed and easily attached again, if needed. This is an added benefit because you never have to worry about damaged cargo or possible derailleurs being lost when transporting a heavy touring bike. The lightweight design of Scorpion’s bike rack makes it easy to pack the bicycle without making any structural changes to the vehicle.

Many motorcycle retailers will carry the Scorpion bike racks for the rear tire only. If you plan to install the bike stands on both tires, make sure the retailer you buy from has both front and rear tire racks available at the same time. The racks will work perfectly well together.

The rear wheel of Scorpion bikes can also be fixed to this type of stand. You can add a cable release mechanism to secure both ends of the back wheel, making it nearly impossible for anyone but the closest rider to ride away. This type of bike stand allows you to lock the back wheel securely so that it will not move even while the bike is in use. This type of stand will require that you bolt the back wheel to the rack securely, which is something you may want to discuss with a dealer.

Although this type of stand seems to be very basic, it provides a lot of advantages for your back and your storage needs. Scorpion manufactures several different models of this type of bike stand, including those that fit on both bikes and those that only fit on one. Although the prices will vary, this type of rack will definitely give you the security you need for your investment while giving you convenient storage for your items. With just a little research and a great deal of thought, you can find a good deal on a good Scorpion bike rack.

Scorpion Bike Stand FAQ

Scorpion mountain bike stand

A Scorpion mountain bike stand is a useful accessory to any serious rider. It allows you to have both your feet firmly planted on the ground while riding and it also allows you to be comfortable. While this may seem like a petty point, there are many benefits to having both. For instance, when your legs hit the dirt at high speeds, it can be very jarring on your shins and knees. Having your feet planted firmly on the ground, or in fact resting on the back of your seat, will reduce the amount of force through the knee cap and will help reduce the risk of injury.

One of the other important features of any Scorpion biking gear is the tyres that you’re using. If you’re going to be doing anything above pavement level (which is all over most of America, even if it’s just across the United States or Canada), then you’ll want to use high performance, top end tyres that are built for speed. These will give you maximum traction and maximum energy, meaning that you’ll be able to accelerate and decelerate at greater speeds and with greater ease. This is why so many professional cycling teams have MTB tyres on their team: they’re light, strong, and they can provide great acceleration and deceleration, all while providing great grip when you get off the pedal. The Scorpion mountain bike is no exception, and if you want to get the best out of your time spent on the road, you should always be riding on the right type of tyre for your terrain.

Finally, you should also consider getting some Scorpion live support to help you get the best out of your Scorpion mountain bike. Live support will provide information about the latest products, help you plan out your rides and ensure that you’re doing everything in your power to ensure the best experience possible. Whether you’re planning your first ride, or you want to try something different on your existing ride, having access to real-life assistance is always a good idea, and this is one of the reasons why many sports enthusiasts choose to use live support services when they get to a new activity such as an outdoor activity like mountain biking or trail running.

Scorpion floor bike stand

Today we are going to be looking at the Feedback Sports Scorpion Floor Bike stand-up bike rack. This rack has proven to be one of the best bike racks for any sport bike and even for a street bike. There is not enough room for all your bikes so getting one of these racks is a good choice. You can pick one up in any color you want. It comes in black with matching part number: 101-8200, in red, white, orange, yellow, and green.

The thing that makes this rack so cool is that it is made from tough composite material that is weather resistant and it does not break. It also does not dent or scratch and its installation is a breeze. Your new rack will have mounting hardware that is factory standard, so you do not need to go out and buy special mounting hardware. This rack comes with a front mounting plate and rear mounting plate so if you decide to change your bike’s color schemes, you will not have to worry about other people seeing your rack. This rack also comes with a removable rear rack that will allow you to take two bikes on vacation or to multiple places.

This bike rack system does come with a ratchet strap and a hydraulic brake mechanism. These two things make this rack a great bike rack system. If you are buying this rack for your kids’ bikes, you might want to look into the fact that this rack system comes with a safety cage. This cage will prevent your kids from rolling off the back of their bikes while they are being transported. This rack system also comes with a cable carrier hitch for your vehicle’s rear.

  1. This stand is amazing and looks fantastic as well. I have no complaints, and it seems that it could be used for almost any information on a bike. So far, mine has only been used to keep it upright in the garage, as well as for washing and other general purposes, but heavier maintenance tasks can necessitate a more stable stand that lifts your entire bike off the ground while firmly clamped. When the time comes, we’ll see…

  2. Because of the mixed reviews, I was reluctant to spend the money on this. I ended up purchasing the cheaper PRO brand first, which works well but isn’t as adaptable to a range of cranks. After struggling with a crazy tight fit on my SRAM X1 cranks, I caved and purchased the Scorpion. It’s been fantastic. Quite durable and flexible, with three separate spindle attachments. I like it for road trips, holding bikes off the ground around the campsite, and easy maintenance without having to carry the large home work stand. The only disadvantage is that, unlike the PRO, you must pull the allen bolt to pack it as efficiently as possible.

  3. The stand is ideal for my requirements. My carbon road bike fits perfectly on this mount. I got it so I could make minor changes to the drivetrain and clean the chain. It’s right for the job! I was concerned that it would be too short, resulting in insufficient clearance, and that the pedals would be difficult to use, but none of these concerns were realized. This is a really sturdy small piece that does not stand out or take up much space; I use it all the time in my garage to carry the bike.
