Gates Pedal Strap Installation

today I’m going to show you how to
install our gates of pedal straps with
our gates pedal the first thing you want
to do in installing your pedal straps
turn them over you’ll notice that the
left strap is labeled with the sticker
marked left now that you’ve found the
left pedal strap you’re ready to install
the pedal strap into the pedal if for
some reason you don’t know which side is
left and right maybe you lost your
sticker take a look at the left edge
from the back on the left pedal strap
the left edge is the long edge on the
right pedal strap the long edge is on
the right so if you have any question
left strap left edges long next thing
you want to do is locate your left pedal
most pedals are marked on the end of the
spindle with an L or an R sometimes you
can find it on the very end sometimes on
the flats in case the gates pedal
there’s a lor stamped right in the end
now you can open up your strap get ready
to install the first step is to install
the two thinner one inch webbing through
the pedal body
you do that by simply inserting the
pedal strap through the holes in the
pedal body pulling them all the way
through be sure you don’t twist the
pedal strap when you install it through
the body once you have the lower straps
through flip it over and make sure that
the lower edge of the strap is aligned
with the top of the pedal body turn the
pedal around and align the other side of
the strap with the top of the pedal body
you’re going to get the most stiffness
and shape retention in your pedal strap
by aligning this edge right on the face
of the pedal next take one of your lower
straps and crisscross it across the
wider two inch webbing take the other
side and go right across again this
gives you a X pattern and really sets up
the angle of the pedal strap nicely next
thing you do is close the strap and
that’s it you’ve just installed your
