your weekly HD fitness tip we’re
continuing our series on cardiovascular
exercise this week talking about the arm
bike or otherwise known as the arm or
gone bear in the past it’s been
something that people use are we having
a leg injury and they can’t do lower
body exercise but it’s also fantastic
for people with stability issues or
balance issues because you’re sitting
down while you do this cardiovascular
exercise and research has shown that’s
just as effective as cardiovascular
exercise involving your legs like a
regular bicycle or running or the
elliptical things like that so if
stability is an issue imbalance is an
issue this is a really really great tool
and you can find it in most health clubs
and Rehab facilities with the arm bike
the main thing you want to focus on is
making sure your chest is at the same
level as the crank arm and some bikes
this one goes both directions you can go
with either both arms rotate it all the
one arm individually or arms alternating
the key is you want to maintain a really
nice posture so one we’re doing the arm
bike you want the shoulders down and
back out of your ears and you want to
keep your tummy tight to keep your back
stable making sure you have enough
resistance to get your heart rate up
