Softride Hang 2 Bike Rack Demo
Hi, we’re here with Softride today.
We’re just demonstrating the Softride Hang2 which is a vertical style hitch rack.
I just want to show everybody real fast how quick and easy it is to load it…
and unload it.
Now I’m going to make this so we can go through
how to load it quickly and efficiently,
step by step, to make it real clear.
First thing you want to do, is you want to be on the drive side of your bike.
The second thing is you’re going to want to grab the rear brake,
and hold it, and then pivot your bike up.
And then this is the pro tip – to switch hands.
Right?
And then grab your down tube,
or your seat post, or your shock,
and just lift your bike up and plop it down, and that’s all it takes.
And to unload it, you’re going to do basically the same thing.
You’re going to hold your rear brake,
you’re going to lift it up, drop it down, and then you can pivot it.
So if you want to see that again in full speed, you’re just going to…
That’s how fast it is.

Softride Bicycle Racks
If you need a high-quality bike rack for your ATV, Dirt Bike, or Motorcycle, the Softride name is definitely a good one to start with. Softride is very popular because of how well their bikes handle and what they can put on a tow truck. They have been around for a few years and have hundreds of thousands of happy customers who swear by their product. We will take a brief look at how they work, the advantages of using Softride, and how to get the most out of your purchase.
All Softride bike racks come with a quiet ride locking hitch lock. The rack itself is put into the rear hitch receiver and a threaded hook is used in order to secure the rack firmly to the rear hitch. Once the rack is secured, you simply slide down the hitch lock over the hook to lock the lock and prevent thieves from taking it out of your car. This is extremely important, as you don’t want someone taking your bike without first putting a lock on it! You should also be sure that you have a reliable lock to begin with, since Softride doesn’t manufacture bike locks themselves but instead relies on the companies that supply them.
These racks also come in different shapes and sizes to accommodate different size ATVs and bikes. You can find custom made Softride racks as well, which are generally made according to specifications provided by the manufacturer. These racks are often made with stronger materials in order to prevent damage to your vehicle, and many even feature stronger locking mechanisms than your standard soft rack. These racks are usually more expensive than your average soft rack, but you can certainly live with that extra expense if it means you have peace of mind knowing that your vehicle and bikes are completely protected.
Most Softride bike racks feature a locking hitch pin that attaches securely to the back of your vehicle. This locking mechanism is what allows you to quickly latch your bike onto the rack, preventing theft in the meantime. These locking mechanisms tend to be much more secure than standard locking hitch pins, due to the fact that they are designed to be much stronger than regular keys or hooks.
Another popular feature of these bike racks is the ability to lock your bike up in the storage bag. This is a very convenient feature for families who frequently travel with their children, as they can keep the bikes in the bags when they aren’t using them. There is a simple folding down mechanism that allows you to lock your bike up with the locking hitch pin while you are on the road. The good thing about these Softride bike rack systems is that they come in different sizes and can easily be customized to accommodate your particular size ATV. These models also fold down much easier and compactly than most standard bike rack options. They typically take up less space than most standard racks.
Softride bike racks tend to use much stronger materials than other brands, making them highly durable. Some models come with extra-long bike arms that can easily hold several bikes on top of it at once. This is great for people who often have a party with their friends, as they can easily leave one bike at a friend’s house while they party inside. You will still be able to see your kids as you hop from one vehicle to another, and they will always be under your watchful eye. If you value your kids, this is definitely an option you want to consider!

I purchased this Softride tailgate pad 54″ to match my 2011 Honda Ridgeline. I used it to transport two 29er mountain bikes and it does cover the gate from the sides. Despite the fact that the pad protects the tailgate from the bikes, the pad’s backing caused micro scratches on the tailgate’s color. I just use the pad while hauling bikes and then delete it, as instructed by the seller. Unfortunately, the paint was already scratched as a result. I recommend placing something between the pad and the tailgate, such as a bath or beach towel, since this pad can scratch the tailgate like a dry paper towel.
So far, I’ve only used it once, but it worked flawlessly. It was fairly simple to put on. The Honda Ridgeline makes it much simpler because the door swings open. I drove with only the velcro straps holding the bike down, and it didn’t move at all. If I were driving a long distance, I would add a ratchet strap across the bed for added protection. However, for local trails, you can simply ride your bike there. If I run into any problems, I’ll let you know.
I agonized over several other, more costly brand-name versions of this type of product before settling on, and it has worked out beautifully. I typically transport two bikes, and it does the job well. It would be nice if it had some fast release buckles to make mounting and unmounting easier, but it works perfectly. I have a Ford Ranger with a standard sized bed and a low profile tool box mounted near the cab on the front of the bed, which shortens my already short little truck bed and prevents me from using any of the upright mounting systems. I also didn’t want to deal with removing and reattaching front wheels because I usually drive fast 10 or 15-minute trips for greenway and street drives, and this was a great solution. I don’t have it on all the time, but I can leave it on for a few days at a time when I know I’ll be going on rides, so it doesn’t get too weathered. I believe it would last long enough for me to feel like I got a decent deal on it. I normally have no trouble transporting a pair of bikes. I’m sure I could cram three or four if I really wanted to. You can have difficulty holding the bikes completely upright. They do lean, particularly if you have racks or other accessories that could throw the bike off balance, but I’ve noticed that I never have to worry about them collapsing into each other or my truck. I use a pair of bungie cords strung between my bed hooks and the bikes to prevent them from flopping around too much on high-speed bumps or sharp turns.
