Kermesse Sport, who brought us Hell of Hunterdon, Fools Classic, and Fixed Gear Fondo, added another event to their growing list of challenging rides. The first installment of the Oktoberfest Ride, held on October 12, celebrated the fall foliage and back roads of Montgomery County.
The twisting, hilly 62-mile course — lined with blue and white Bavarian flags — recalled the feel of other Kermesse events. The ride started and ended at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Collegeville, where the participants were rewarded for their efforts with a traditional German style feast.
Photographer Pete Bakken captured the fall colors of Montgomery County roads, barns, and bridges from a rider’s perspective.
